Low-fare airline Ryanair is reducing its check-in charges as part of a newly-launched customer charter.

From May, the no-frills Irish carrier will be lowering its check-in fee from 70 euros (just under £51) to 45 euros (just under £33). Words: PA

The change is part of a package of passenger improvements to mark the airline's 30th birthday. They include new seats with more legroom and improved in-flight meals.

Ryanair is also promising new aircraft interiors and new uniforms for cabin crew.

Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary said: "2014/15 was a record year for Ryanair, as we grew our traffic to 90 million customers and started to dramatically improve the customer experience."
