Michael Schumacher's family sell his Norway holiday home for £2m
Michael Schumacher's family have sold his holiday home in Norway for £2 million.
The 645-square-metre lodge is situated in Trysil, north of Oslo, and Michael used to spent a few months every year at the house, skiing with his family and playing football with local sports teams.
The Formula One star bought the house in the mid-1990s, and it includes a cabin on nearby ski slopes, a spa in the basement, garage space for up to seven cars, and a gym.
Estate agent Petter Birkrem told thelocal.no the house "was his refuge from the media pursuit he has suffered throughout his life".
He added that the buyer was a foreigner that was not well known in Norway, and said: "We had a viewing for this person and his family at the very start of winter. They got a real 'wow' feeling when they came into the cabin."
The paper reports that Birkrem revealed the family had actually planned to sell the house in 2014, but the plans were put off after Michael's accident.
Michael suffered serious head injuries after he hit rocks while skiing in Meribel on 29 December 2013.
He spent months in hospital in a coma, before being moved to a Swiss clinic. Then, in September 2014, he was moved to his £35 million lakeside mansion in Gland, Switzerland, where he is being cared for by a staff of 15 specialists in an at-home medical suite, reports the Express.
