British man arrested for murder of alleged German paedophile in Spain
A British man has been arrested for allegedly killing a German tourist for filming his daughter in a restaurant in Spain.
Kainth Devinder, 40, has been held by police after the attack on 43-year-old Sandro Rottman in Sotogrande on Spain's Costa Del Sol on Saturday night.
Rottman had been charged with possession of child pornography days earlier but it is not known if Devinder was aware of that.
According to the Olive Press, Devinder demanded that Rottman stopped filming during their family meal at the Spinnaker restaurant on Saturday night.
Rottman reportedly continued, prompting Devinder to seize the tablet and throw it on the floor, before attacking Rottman. He allegedly punched Rottman in the head before leaving the restaurant.
According to the Daily Mail, a source with the Civil Guard police force in Algeciras said: "He took the tablet off him, saw that there were recordings of his daughter, and that was when the attack took place."
The Civil Guard were called to the scene, where medics were already attending to the victim. Rottman was transferred to La Linea hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Devinder was later arrested at his home following statements made by witnesses at the restaurant.
