Conrad Hilton is being charged for disrupting a British Airways flight - calling fellow passengers 'peasants' and threatening to kill flight attendants.

Paris Hilton's brother has appeared in court in Los Angeles for allegedly disrupting a flight from London.

He faces allegations that he assaulted and threatened a British Airways flight crew on 31 July.

He had his hands and feet shackled as he entered court, where he was charged with interfering with a fight crew, an offence that can carry a penalty of up to 20 years.

He did not enter a plea and was released on $100,000 (£65,000) bail, reports the Daily Mail.

An FBI agent says in a 17-page affidavit that Hilton threatened to kill and bury flight attendants and his behaviour was so disruptive that children were crying.

The documents say Hilton was in a rage most of the 10-hour flight and that he was angry over the break-up with a girlfriend and wanted to smoke marijuana.

Flight attendants told investigators Hilton was hurling profanities throughout the flight and said he had been banned from other airlines.

According to the Daily Telegraph, witnesses said at one point he yelled:"I will f****** own anyone on this flight. They are f****** peasants."

At one point he reportedly went to the toilet, from where a smell of cannabis was emanating.

He also allegedly punched the bulkheads inches from a flight attendant's face, and threatened to kill flight attendants and the co-pilot or have them sacked from their jobs,

He allegedly said:"I could get you all fired in five minutes. I know your boss. My father will pay this out. He has done it before. Dad paid $300,000 last time."

Conrad's mother is Kathy Hilton and his father is Rick Hilton, the grandson of the Hilton Hotels chain founder, who was also called Conrad Hilton.

A co-pilot who was assigned by the captain to look after Conrad said he appeared uncoordinated, delusional and paranoid.

An FBI agent who met Conrad at the airport in LA after the flight said he had admitted calling other passengers "peasants".

Speaking outside the court, Hilton's lawyer, Robert Shapiro, who also defended OJ Simpson, said his behaviour could have been a result of the effects of a sleeping pill.
