Fans slam Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs' "overpriced" hotel

Football fans have criticised the prices at Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs' new hotel in Manchester.

Guests staying at four-star Hotel Football on 14 March, the day Manchester United plays Tottenham Hotspur, can expect to pay £250 for a room plus £10 per person for breakfast, the Daily Mail reports.

Fans have branded the hotel "overpriced" and took to Twitter to slam the prices.

Andrew Callaghan tweeted: "Jesus the prices at @ GNev2 hotel are embarrassing, how can you charge £270 for one night's stay? Football is for the rich it seems Gary #mufc".

Another said: "Prices for that new football hotel a bit steep Gary. Thought the hotel was for football fans?"

Responding to a social media user who said pints of beer were nearly £5, Gary Neville tweeted, "your looking at London prices mate. Pint 3.50 like Trafford arms and others!"

The hotel has 133 rooms and is located next to Old Trafford.

In November, the Manchester United stars were hit with a delay for the hotel's opening as they were £2 million out of budget.

Hotel Football was set to open on 8 December 2014 in Manchester but its opening was rescheduled for February 2015.

According to the Daily Star, the extra time was needed for improvements to the banqueting and conference facilities, as well as an extension to the football pitch.

A source told the newspaper: "The lads want to get everything spot on and don't want to cut any corners just to keep to a schedule.

"It's only natural you want to get it finished and open the doors as quickly as possible."
