Conman sold bottles of urine as whiskey to tourists
A fraudster admitted selling counterfeit bottles of whiskey containing human urine to tourists on Blackpool Promenade.
Nicholas Stewart, 35, was branded a danger to public after he was caught selling the half-litre bottles of fake Jack Daniel's whiskey and Smirnoff vodka to holidaymakers for £10.
According to the Daily Mail, Blackpool Council prosecutor Victoria Cartmell said the drinks were laced with faeces and urine to give them colour.
Stewart was spared jail but was handed a 70-day jail term suspended for 12 months after admitting fraud.
The Blackpool Gazette reports that now police officers and the council want to slap a CRASBO on Stewart and ban him selling fake booze in popular tourist resort Blackpool.
Security staff seized the bottles when he was seen approaching customers in the Coral Island slot machine complex.
After scientific analysis it was revealed what the drinks contained. Some were filled with flat cola.
Prosecutor Cartmell said: "They were totally unsuitable for public consumption- they were hazardous and contained dangerous e -coli bacteria. This man is has been involved in 32 incidents and is a persistent and troublesome offender."
Martin Hillson, defending, said that Stewart carried out the scam because he needed money for food, He objected to the CRASBO, saying that it would even ban his client from selling The Big Issue.
