Several Injured After Train Stabbing Incident

A knife-wielding man has been arrested in Michigan after allegedly stabbing three passengers and a conductor on an Amtrak train.

The 44-year-old suspect was in police custody on Friday and all four wounded people were taken to hospital after being injured in the attack.

According to CBS Local, police are still trying to determine the motivation for the attack.

The train was travelling from Chicago to Port Huron, Michigan and the attack happened at Niles, Michigan.

Passenger Caitlin Cipri told the South Bend Tribune that she was about to get off the train when she heard screaming.

"It was terrifying and you don't think something like that is going to happen to you," she said. "It's terrifying that things like this happen."

According to the Daily Telegraph, the attack was still underway when police arrived and they were forced to use a Taser on the suspect.

An Amtrak spokeswoman said the Amtrak Police Department was helping Niles city police with the investigation.
