The Vietnamese city of Da Nang has been named the top destination for a holiday in 2015, by TripAdvisor reviewers.
With its pristine beaches, fascinating history and pretty boulevards, Da Nang is an excellent choice for a city break in Asia - and makes for a cheap holiday too.
TripAdvisor's annual Travellers' Choice awards for Destinations on the Rise recognised the destinations that have seen the greatest increase in positive feedback and interest from travel reviewers year-on-year.
An overnight stay in a hotel in Da Nang (pictured above) costs an average of £32 and a flight with one stop comes out at as little as £542, making it a great upcoming destination to add to your bucket list for 2015. In second place is laid-back beach location Sihanoukville in Cambodia, while lively city Limassol in Cyprus takes third position.
A TripAdvisor traveller explained that Da Nang is growing in popularity due to it representing real Vietnam. The said: "If you like to be among the locals, watching daily life without any souvenir shops and tourist hassle, it's a good place. The main attraction in my eyes is the river front with the new bridges, illuminated at night. On weekends don't miss the dragon bridge, the most interesting place in Da Nang."
Limassol is the only destination named in Europe, while some surprising mid-haul places have emerged, including Israel's southernmost city Eilat, which boasts sunshine nearly every day of the year, and Turkey's Bodrum City, which offers culturally rich attractions such as Castle of St. Peter and the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology.
