The moment an adorable elephant attempted to charge at a busload of tourists has been caught on camera.

The little elephant gets a bout of confidence and runs towards the tourists, even giving a little jump.

But he soon becomes aware of being alone, and runs back to the herd and his mum quite quickly.

The video was uploaded to YouTube by the Bushcamp Company, and the tourists were staying at the Mfuwe Lodge. The caption read: "This video shows a young elephant calf charging our vehicle and then very quickly realising that this might not be such a good idea after all.

"Not only is he (she?) very cute but he also manages a small jump - not an easy feat for an elephant. It was filmed during our stay at Mfuwe Lodge."

One user said: "Adorable, little 'un testing the water, so very cute to watch ."

Another said: "I can watch this again and again and again. So cute. What a glorious thing that must have been to experience."

According to the Bushcamp Company website, the Mfuwe Lodge is set in the most prolific game area of the South Luangwa. It reads: "This region of the park is renowned for its prolific game – giraffe, buffalo, antelope, crocodile are constant visitors to Mfuwe Lodge's lagoon, whilst in November the local elephants regularly wander right through the lobby, lured by a nearby wild mango tree."
