A glass floor has been unveiled at London's Tower Bridge, offering visitors to Britain's most famous bridge some beautiful views.
The £1 million improvement means that a new glass floor extends across Tower Bridge's high-level walkway, 138ft above the River Thames in London. Words: PA
The west walkway floor is opening today (Tuesday 11 November), and the east walkway opening is set from December 1.
The floor allows visitors a view of the bridge lifts and is the most significant change since the Tower bridge Experience opening in 1982.
The exhibition attracts about 600,000 visitors a year and the installation, provided by the City of London Corporation, is expected to lead to an increase in visitor numbers.
Taking eight year to construct, Tower Bridge was officially opened in 1894 by the Prince and Princess of Wales (the future King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra).
