Forecasters have predicted warm weather in Britain for next weekend with temperatures reaching as high as 21C in parts of the country.

Chief forecaster Leon Brown at The Weather Channel tells AOL Travel: "A number of forecast solutions bring much warmer weather back to southern Britain by next Friday and Saturday, temperatures possibly 21C." He adds that the weather "further north is likely to stay unsettled and wetter."

For this weekend, we are likely to see some showers, just not as heavy or widespread on Saturday.

Leon says: "Sunday looks like quite a foggy start, but a dry day with sunny spells once the fog clears - so the best day of the weekend if you get up late!

"From Sunday late evening it looks like another area of low pressure developing to the south of the UK may move north. There is still some uncertainty on how quickly and far north it will track."

He adds: "This could well bring some heavy rain to south-east England Sunday night and early Monday, and then to central and eastern England on Monday. There is potential for 20mm or more rainfall.

"Once this clears a ridge of high pressure in the middle of next week will bring some chilly nights and ground frosts, then all change again by Thursday.

"For the end of the week more rain spreading from the SW, but also southerly winds so temperatures rising."

The Met Office says next Wednesday "will be a largely dry day with sunny spells developing, once any fog patches clear, with perhaps just a few showers around."

It says Thursday will be similar. On Friday rain and strong winds are forecast in the west and will gradually push across the country. "Thereafter, it will then remain rather windy with rain or showers, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes, best of these in the east and southeast. Temperatures will rise above average, especially by night."
