The 25 foot tall giant Granny will roam the streets of Limerick as part of the biggest event of Limerick City of Culture 2014, reports the Mirror.

According to the Daily Edge, it takes 70 people in total to operate the Granny, who will "eat, drink and sleep" on the streets of the city this weekend.

The event organisers are expecting 100,000 visitors to come see Granny over the three days.

This could be the largest event in the city since the Pope came to visit in 1979.
