A man has claimed he was thrown off an American Airlines flight because he smelled.

The 27-year-old man from Paris was thrown off a Dallas-bound plane at Charles de Gaulle airport.

According to thelocal.fr, the incident was caught on a video, which was seen by AFP.

One flight attendant reportedly told the man: "The crew and passengers complained of your smell.

"You're with an American company, this is American territory and the captain has the right to refuse you. You will not be flying today."

AFP reports that the man was then told to "take a shower".

The Daily Mail reports that the man said he covered himself with Dior perfume at the duty free shop.

Police were called and the man was escorted off the plane. He then filed a discrimination complaint against American Airlines.

However, the airline denies the allegation and said the man had "visa issues", but did not comment further.
