Where is the world's most unfriendly city? Unfortunately, there are a lot of contenders for this dubious title according Conde Nast Traveler, which recently revealed which cities have the most and least friendly residents as part of their annual Readers' Choice Survey.

Although it is a popular destination for tourists, Johannesburg in South Africa was named as the least friendly city to visit. Meanwhile, three French cities featured in the top 10 despite France being voted the most welcoming country in Europe earlier this year. And guess how many British spots made the grade.. See which cities were named an shamed below - do you agree with this list?



And what about the friendliest cities in the world? You need to head down under to find some of them: Aukland in New Zealand and Melbourne in Australia were named top spots for friendliness.

Melbourne dwellers were praised for their humour and cool factor, while Aucklanders "are friendly, and their humor and view on life is something to aspire to attain".

No British cities feature in the list but neighbouring Dublin comes in fifth place: Ireland is known as "the land of a thousand welcomes" after all....
