A woman crashed her car into a fire station after a snake she had just allegedly stolen wrapped itself around her neck.
Sarah Espinosa, 22, from Albany, US, crashed into the Nassau County Fire House and hit two fire trucks, reports the NY Daily News.
Firefighters found her with a small ball python wrapped around her neck, and helped to rescue her from the precarious situation.
According to the Mirror, police claim the two-foot snake had been stolen shortly before the incident at 7pm on Monday night.
New Hyde Park fire chief Steve Waldron said it was one of the weirdest incidents he'd ever seen.
ABC News reports that Espinosa, who was uninjured in the incident, was charged with reckless endangerment, theft, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana.
She has pleaded not guilty.
Ball pythons are the smallest of the African pythons and are popular in the pet trade, largely due to their typically docile temperament. The name 'ball python' refers to the animal's tendency to curl into a ball when stressed or frightened.
