Teen in hospital after falling from hotel balcony at wedding in Ireland

A teenage girl has been left in a 'critical condition' after falling from a hotel balcony onto a parked car in Ireland.

The woman had been a guest at a wedding held at the Bridge House Hotel in Tullamore, Co Offaly, on Saturday.

According to the Irish Mirror, the girl had been sitting on a first floor balcony before she accidentally fell at around 1.15am on Sunday morning.

She was rushed to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore where she remains s in critical condition.

The Irish Independent reports that the girl hit a parked BMW not the street, but that she is now making a recovery.

Cllr Tommy McKeigue, of Offaly County Council, described the accident as a "awful", telling the paper: "It's an awful accident and we're thinking of this young girl and her family at this time."

A garda spokesman said investigations into the incident were under way.
