Five teens arrested after large blaze at former Devon holiday park

Five teenagers have been arrested following a major fire at a former holiday park in Brixham.

Devon and Cornwall Polive said three 16-year-old boys, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man have been questioned in relation to the suspected arson attack at the former Pontins holiday park.

All five have been bailed until August pending further inquiries, reports the BBC.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service received dozens of calls from members of the public who noticed the blaze at the Wall Park Road site in Brixham yesterday, reports the Torquay Heral Express.

The thick smoke could be seen for some distance, with many tweeting images of the fire.

According to the fire service, the blaze started in the swimming pool building and spread to the clubhouse.

More than 30 firefighters tackled the blaze at the former holiday park in Devon.

Emergency services warned local residents to stay in their homes because of the smoke.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service is working with Devon and Cornwall Police to investigate the blaze.

Wall Park Road was closed for almost five hours following the incident.

According to the BBC, no-one is believed to have been injured.
