Woman killed in Wolverhampton hotel died from 'multiple stab wounds'

A woman whose body was found at a hotel in Wolverhampton died from "multiple stab wounds", police have confirmed.

A post-mortem carried out on Amandeep Kaur Hothi found she suffered wounds "inflicted by a sharp object", reports the Express and Star.

The 29-year-old was found at The Britannia Hotel on Lichfield Street at around 10am on Thursday.

A 29-year-old man from Wolverhampton has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

He was found injured near the scene, and police say he remains in hospital but will be taken into custody when he is well enough to be questioned.

The paper added that a policeman was on guard in the hotel foyer on Saturday night, but guests were still being allowed to check in to their rooms.
