"Anything Ellen can do, I can do better" seems to be the approach taken by one of ZSL London Zoo's playful ring-tail lemurs, who was caught snapping his own 'selfies' just a few days after the Oscars host's now-infamous pic took Twitter by storm.
Bekily, a 12-year-old male ring-tail lemur, grabbed the camera from keeper Tegan McPhail during feeding time and made sure the focus was all on him.
Keeper Tegan told Rex Features: "We're always taking quick pics of the animals we look after - as with workmates this cute, it's hard to resist - but Bekily definitely wanted to get in on the action himself this time.
"As I was snapping away, he grabbed the camera lens and pulled it towards his own face. It took him a few attempts but he got a great profile pic in the end.
"I doubt we'll be entering his pics into photography competitions anytime soon; however I think he did a pretty good job!"
ZSL London Zoo is encouraging all keen wildlife photographers - excluding lemurs - to enter the ZSL Animal Photography Prize, which closes on 1st April 2014.
With just three weeks left to enter, photographers are in with the chance to win a share of a £10k prize fund, and have their image displayed in a stunning exhibition at ZSL London Zoo this autumn. To enter visit www.zsl.org
