A man was hit by a train in Lincoln and survived the accident.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, suffered a head injury and was taken to QMC Hospital in Nottingham, the Lincolnshire Echo reports.

He was reportedly struck on the railway tracks near Tritton Road.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman told The Lincolnite: "The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and officers are working to identify the man and inform his family."

The man was airlifted to hospital.
