Woman and teen charged with attacking elderly man on bus (video)

Two women have been charged with serious assault after they attacked an elderly man on a bus in Queensland, Australia.

Lana Janet Watmough and Layni Gloria Cameron handed themselves in to police after a video of them punching, kicking and spitting at the 77-year-old man went viral.

According to Sky News, a 13-year-old filmed the young women and uploaded the footage to YouTube.

International Business Times reports that the women believed the man was indigenous and one of them allegedly told the victim: "Oh bro, we're in Abo land."

Gold Coast District acting Superintendent Brian Swan told Brisbane Times: "The victim actually doesn't identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. However it is concerning the alleged (attackers) perceived that he was."

The pair faces one count each of serious assault and public nuisance.
