Video footage has shown the moment a tourist got whacked in the face by a whale's tail.
The woman was part of a group of people who had gone on a whale-watching boat tour in Baja California, Mexico.
According to ninemsn.com.au, she was a Canadian called Chelsea Crawford.
Friend and fellow whale-watcher Jordyn Rivet uploaded the footage to Live Leak, and informed viewers that, while shocked, Chelsea was unharmed, reports the Daily Mail.
Baja California is famous for its up close and personal encounters with whales, particularly friendly gray whales - but perhaps this was a little too close for comfort.
