A pregnant woman and her unborn child were killed in a car crash on the A465 in South Wales.

The 20-year-old woman, from Tredegar, was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny following the crash where she died, Gwent Police said.

According to the BBC, two Peugeot cars collided between Brynmawr and Garnlydan, Blaenau Gwent on Friday night.

The men driving the Peugeot 207 and 307 were uninjured but both suffered shock, the South Wales Argus reports.

Police are appealing for witnesses and say the woman's family is being supported by officers.
