Obedient pedestrian waits with traffic by roadworks sign

Updated

A pedestrian in Coventry was pictured stopping and waiting with traffic at a roadworks sign that read: 'When red light shows wait here'.

The woman was photographed on Hearsall Lane in Earlsdon by a queuing driver and the snap has gone viral.

Imogen O'Neill, 18, told the Coventry Telegraph: "We were driving up to the roadworks when we saw this women walking up and then just standing at the traffic lights.

"I said to my mum 'I think she's waiting at the traffic lights' but she didn't believe me at first.

"The woman just stood there waiting so I took a photo and then when the lights went green she carried on."

Comedian Russell Kane retweeted the picture and wrote: "SHE STOPPED WALKING".

The photo has been retweeted 4,500 times.
