Man's body found at Southampton railway station


The body of a man has been found at a railway station in Southampton.

The discovery was made at Millbrook train station, and the man's death is currently being treated as unexplained, reports ITV News.

The BBC reports that the man's body was not found on the tracks, and that his cause of death is not yet known.


An area around the station was sealed off following the discovery on Sunday, and the station was closed for several hours.

A Hampshire Police spokesman told Capital FM: "Officers are continuing to investigate after the body of a man was found near to Millbrook train station this morning.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are underway to determine the circumstances around this incident."

According to the Mirror, the spokesman added: "If you were in the area either last night or in the early hours of today and have information which could assist our investigation, please call us on 101."
