David and Victoria Beckham's luxury family holiday in the Maldives has reportedly been ruined after a fireworks explosion at their resort and a man's body being pulled from the sea in a separate incident.

The Sun reports that the family jetted off to the Indian Ocean holiday hotspot for a New Year's break at a seven-star resort.

But just as they arrived, thousands of fireworks were accidentally set off, burning a storage shelter.

Haveeru Online reports that the body of a Sri Lankan man was found floating in the lagoon of the resort.

Last year, the Beckhams splashed out £250K on a Christmas holiday in the Maldives.

The reportedly stayed at the uber-luxuy One&Only Reethi Rah, where the most expensive suite costs £8,600 a night.
