A British tourist was beaten and mugged in Kato Paphos, Cyprus on Friday.

The 80-year-old man was walking to his hotel at around 10.30pm when he was approached by two people with covered faces and attacked, the Cyprus Mail reports.

According to the newspaper, they robbed the pensioner of his watch, a neck chain, bracelet and seven rings.

He managed to make it back to his hotel where an ambulance was called and he was treated for injuries to his legs.

In May, a retired couple on holiday in Spain's Costa Brava were attacked and robbed in their holiday home by three masked men. The couple were tied up and the wife was subjected to a terrifying game of Russian roulette.
