Three men wanted after violent 'football fan' fight on train

Three men are wanted by police after a violent fight broke out among football fans on a train to London

Detectives from British Transport Police (BTP) are continuing to appeal for information after the fight broke out between football fans on board a train travelling between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst.

The brawl came after a match at Bournemouth in which Millwall lost 5-2.

Investigators have now released images of three men they are keen to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place on Saturday, 5 October.

Police officers said that the incident was frightening for passengers on the train.

Detective Constable Matt Bevan, who is investigating, said: "Officers were alerted to men fighting on the 9.12pm Bournemouth to Waterloo service a short while before it pulled into Brockenhurst station.

"BTP and Hampshire Police officers met the train at Brockenhurst and found two men with facial injuries. After making enquiries at the scene, no witnesses came forward, and no complaints were made to officers."

DC Bevan continued: "We believe that football fans were involved, and that the incident followed the Bournemouth v Millwall match that took place earlier that day.

"We originally appealed for witnesses in October, and from the information we gathered, we believe that some of the group have connections with Milwall Football Club.

"If you recognise the men pictured, saw anything on the train, or have any information that could help police, please contact us."
