Two people have died after a helicopter crashed into a luxury apartment block in South Korea.

The pilots of the helicopter were killed when the aircraft hit the building and plunged to the ground.

According to Sky News, residents said the crash was so loud they thought "a war had started".

The crash happened in the affluent Gangnam district of Seoul.

ITN reports that 27 residents of the apartment block were evacuated and that there were no other injuries.

The LG Electronics-owned chopper was on its way to a landing field where it was to pick up staff before heading to another city.
