Arise, Sir Bob! Look who's fallen asleep on the steps of luxury hotel

Sir Bob Geldof might be a pop legend, but his age could be creeping up on him as he was spotted taking a little snooze on the steps of a Glasgow hotel the day after he performed at the city's 02 Academy.

Sir Bob took to the stage as part of the Boomtown Rats reunion tour, and it obviously took it out of him as the next morning he took 40 winks outside the trendy Malmaison hotel.

According to the Daily Mail, he was enjoying his nap so much, a concerned passer-by decided to stop and see if was okay.

But the singer was simply having a rest while waiting for his private car to take him to Newcastle, where the band performed next.

However, his power nap lasted a rather lengthy 45 minutes in the uncomfortable spot.

An onlooker told the Mirror: "Bob came out of the hotel and looked like he was going to go for a walk.

"But then after walking about 20 yards he turned back and went for a lie down.

"I couldn't tell if he was completely asleep from where I was or if he was just dozing but he didn't move for 45 minutes and he looked absolutely dead to the world.

"He woke startled and almost looked like he didn't know where he was."

The witness added he received a few funny looks, saying: "I don't think they could quite believe Bob Geldof was sleeping in the street!"
