Detectives in Ireland are investigating the discovery of a human arm which was found by a passer-by in a wooded area.
The walker found the remains at The Mayne in Clonee, Co Meath, at around 4.30pm on Friday.
According to The Independent, the gruesome discovery sparked a detailed search and forensic examination of the area.
A Garda spokesman said: "The search is ongoing and will continue - weather and light permitting."
Speaking to the Irish Times, Garda sources said that body parts are often found, but usually on beaches.
They added that the discovery of severed limbs in locations away from coastal settings was very unusual.
Gardaí believe the full arm belongs to a man and they are studying missing person reports to confirm his identity.
