The further north you travel the better. This winter, Reykjavik in Iceland is one of the most popular hotspots - and it's certainly one of the most accessible places, with flight times of just three hours from London . Canada, Sweden, Norway and Finland are also good bets (and each offers stunning winter landscapes even if you don't get to see the Auroras). The northern parts of Scotland are also likely to be treated to some spectacular shows - the Shetland Isles are also becoming popular for Aurora chasers.
