Video footage has captured the moment a huge marlin fish leaps out of the sea and onto a fishing boat - forcing one man to swap places and jump into the ocean.
Three men can be seen enjoying a spot of fishing, before the giant fish leaps on board and starts thrashing around, leaving one man little option but to jump overboard to avoid being injured by its sharp-pointed snout.
The man is left bobbing in the water as another fisherman tries to free his friend who is strapped to a fishing chair.
The fishermen's identities and location is not known.
Deep sea fishing for marlin is considered an extreme sport. A marlin has a spear-like snout, with the species' name thought to derive from its resemblance to a sailor's marlinspike.
The larger species include the Atlantic blue marlin, which can reach 16.4ft in length and 1,803lb in weight, and the black marlin which can reach in excess of 16.4ft weigh 1,480lb.
