Kate's uncle takes London bus tour on day of Prince George's christening

While every man and his dog were waiting outside St James' Palace to get a peek at Prince George's christening on Wednesday, what was Kate Middleton's uncle doing? Enjoying a tour of London on a sightseeing bus.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Gary Goldsmith decided it was the perfect day to go on a Big Bus tour of the capital. He told the paper on Wednesday: "Brushing up on my local London knowledge today. I know how to live."

Gary, who is Carole Middleton's "loveable rogue" brother, is often described as the rebel of the family.

Jennie Bond told the Guardian: "He's obviously a colourful character but the royal family has plenty of black sheep of its own."

The self-made IT recruitment millionaire owns a villa in Ibiza, called La Maison de Bang Bang, which just about says it all.

The Big Bus Tour offers an open-top route around London to all its famous landmarks, revealing its 2,000-year history, with a choice of a recorded commentary or a live commentary delivered by "entertaining guides".

Its website says: "The hop-on, hop-off facility will enable you to get on and off the bus at many places of interest. Choose from the 24 or 48 hour ticket to see the city and its sights at your own pace.

"Your sightseeing tour of London also includes a free cruise on the River Thames and 4 guided walking tours for you to enjoy; plus Big Bus Reward Vouchers that offer a range of discounts at attractions, shops and restaurants."
