It's time to turn the heating off again as weather forecasters have predicted a warm end to September with temperatures remaining in the low 20s after a balmy weekend.

According to the Daily Mail, Britain is set to bask in glorious sunshine next week with temperatures possibly hitting 25C on Monday.

Met Office forecaster Kirk Waite told the newspaper: "'It is going to feel warm and I wouldn't rule out temperatures hitting the mid-20s. If we are really lucky, we could get up to 25C but we're confident we'll see at least 24C in London and other urban areas in the south and east.

"In northern areas, it will also feel pleasantly warm, with temperatures of 22C widespread."

It's good news for this weekend as chief meteorologist Leon Brown at The Weather Channel tells AOL Travel: "High pressure will bring a fine and settled spell of weather this weekend. Some lovely warm weather is expected, but there is a risk of fog, as is typical at this time of the year.

"The warmth and increased humidity will spill eastwards over the UK on Saturday behind a warm front and then high pressure will build up across the UK. The warmest places on Saturday will be from East Wales across the Midlands reaching 22 or 23C, plus South East Ireland will reach 22 to 23C."

Leon adds: "There is risk of some dense fog forming in the south on Saturday, slowly clearing on Sunday morning, but low cloud may linger over southern coasts and around western coasts. We will see a glorious sunny afternoon in the central areas and also much of Scotland with temperatures 21 to 23C and only light breezes."

For next week, Leon predicts a similar pattern for the start of the week, with overnight and morning fog, some dense patches - so anyone driving early in the day should take great care.

"There will be plenty of midday and afternoon sunshine with temperatures in the low 20s. Later in the week England and Wales will remain fine, warm and settled, but Scotland will become cooler and cloudier with some light rain as weak fronts brush across northern Britain."
