Video: Costa Concordia recovery in time lapse

This footage from the shores of the island of Giglio, Italy, shows the wreckage of the Costa Concordia being raised from the sea bed - nearly 20 months after it ran aground, killing 32 people.

The salvage operation began on Monday at dawn, and continued for 19 hours.

Rescuers are hoping to recover the bodies of two people who are still missing.

The captain of the Concordia, Francesco Schettino, is on trail for alleged manslaughter, causing shipwreck and abandoning the ship during the evacuation.

He claims the reef wasn't on the nautical charts.
