Video of the day: Rio de Janeiro in time lapse

Updated

"No wonder the beautiful city of Rio De Janeiro was chosen to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympics," says LA film maker Scientifantastic, who took this beautiful time lapse video while on an assignment recently.

The video takes in iconic scenery of Brazil's capital city, including the statue of Christ the Redeemer, which sits atop Corcovado mountain (named on of the New Seven Wonders of the World) and Sugarloaf Mountain with its cable car.

Also featured in this video is footage from the Iguazu Falls, on the border between Brazil and Argentina, which is another of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
