Flame-haired passengers were treated to a special redheads-only flight with Flybe on Friday, with a royal guest on board too, in the form of Prince Harry (well, an imposter, anyway!).
The 'royal' along with other red-haired passengers received a rousing send-off aboard Flybe's sold-out Inverness to Amsterdam flight.
Roddy Walker, the Prince Harry look-a-like, delighted awaiting passengers as he mingled with them prior to the departure of the designated redhead flight to mark the Redhead Days Festival in Breda, Netherlands this weekend.
'Prince Harry' and his fellow travellers were waved off by a number of specially invited guests including Mrs Margaret Swan, a local 95 year-old Inverness resident who is arguably the oldest natural redhead in Scotland, and Caroline England who played a rendition of her 'Proud to be Ginger' song.
Flybe is hoping to create an unofficial world record by carrying the largest number of redheads on a scheduled flight, which also includes the pilots and cabin crew. On board refreshments were also appropriately themed with alcoholic ginger beer.
Mike Cantlay, Chairman of VisitScotland, said: "As a fellow redhead, I was delighted to hear of this eye-catching world record attempt. After all, Scotland has the highest proportion of redheads in the world – something recently celebrated with the character of Merida in Disney-Pixar's Brave – and it is one of the many things that makes our country unique."
Holland's Redhead Days will be held over the August 30th weekend, culminating in World Red Hair Day on Sunday, September 1st.
