A British man has died after hitting his head following a night out while on holiday in Ibiza.

Christopher Briggs, 25, was found dead in his room at the two-star Apolo Hotel after partying in the area of San Antonio.

According to the Evening Standard, it is believed he fell and hit his head after returning to his hotel room alone.

His roommate later came home to find him lying on the floor next to his bed.

A source told the Daily Mail: "There were no signs of violence on his body apart from a head injury which it is thought he suffered during a fall.

"The post-mortem will obviously determine the cause of death but everything at this stage is pointing to it being the result of a tragic accident."

It is the second British fatality in Spain's Balearic Islands in less than a week. Last Thursday, Tnokas Ousby, 19, from London, fell to his death from the ninth floor of a hotel in Magaluf.

The Express reports that Thomas was killed instantly when he fell from the top floor of the four-star Atlantic Park Hotel.

In mid-July, a British teenager was left in a serious condition in hospital after falling from a hotel balcony in Ibiza.

Michael Jordan Hill, 19, fell from the fourth floor of Hotel Brisa in the island's party resort San Antonio.

Just a few days before, a British father-of-three died after falling from a hotel balcony during a holiday in Magaluf, Spain.

Craig Knapp, 31, from Dundee, Scotland, was on a family holiday in the popular tourist spot on the island of Majorca.
