A shocking video has revealed CCTV footage of train drivers falling asleep, reading books and playing on their mobile phones while in control of passenger trains.
The video, released by the transport authority in Buenos Aires, Argentina, also shows one driver covering up the camera to stop his antics being filmed.
Last year, more than 50 people were killed and 700 injured when a commuter train crashed into a terminus at Once Station, Buenos Aires.
And in June this year, three people were killed and more than 300 injured when another commuter train crashed into a stationery train just outside the capital.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Argentina's government has vowed to crack down on dangerous train drivers.
Transport minister Florencio Randazzo plans to ban phone calls in the cab, and has introduced daily medical checks on all drivers, reports ITN.
