A cheeky seagull stole a pensioner's set of false teeth - when she took them out to have a biscuit.

Renee A'Bear, 92, was enjoying a cup of tea and feeding the birds outside her care home in Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex, when the hungry animal swooped in and stole them from the table beside her.

Linda Stevens, the supervisor at Eridge House Residential Home, told the Mirror: "All of us, including Renee, have seen the funny side.

"But she's going to be a bit more circumspect in future as to which birds she feeds."

Staff later found the expensive dentures sitting on the roof, reports Digital Spy.

According to the Bexhill Observer, Linda added: "Luckily her carers, Melanie Marchant and Gill Roy, found a ladder and while Gill steadied it, Mel climbed up to retrieve the stolen dentures."
