Another British holidaymaker has been attacked at the Turkish resort of Marmaris, where a 17-year-old was stabbed just a week ago.

The man, named as Arron Saunders, 27, who is believed to be from London, was attacked on Thursday night.

The Mirror reports that he was treated by paramedics and a doctor at Long Beach promenade, where the attack happened. According to local news reports, he had been out drinking with his girlfriend and a bottle was smashed over his head when he wandered out of a bar.

The Daily Mail reports that an ambulance was called but Mr Saunders refused to go to hospital.

Days earlier, Dwayne Ward, 17, was attacked with a pen-knife and razor after a night out in the resort. He was robbed, stripped, stabbed and slashed, before being dumped in a local garden. Fortunately, he is said to be recovering well.

A Turkish police source told The Mirror: "The welfare of tourists is of paramount importance to us. We want people to come out and enjoy the sunshine. But, unfortunately, when alcohol is involved, it often ends in disaster."
