A rabbit with a rare disease has been named 'Frankenstein' after the gruesome spikes that protrude from its head
A video of the animal with Shope papilloma virus, which was spotted in Mankato, Minnesota, has been posted on YouTube and viewed thousands of times.

In the video, Gunnar Boettcher, who found the rabbit, says: "I don't know what it is, what kind of breed it is but it's crazy. It's got monster spikes sticking out of its head.
"This thing is monstrous. I think I'm going to decide to name it Frankenstein."
The 20-year-old student from St Peter, Minnesota told MailOnline: "Whenever we got close, he always ran away. We could never get a close look at him."
The rabbit has cottontail papilloma virus (CRPV) or Shope papilloma virus, which causes tumours to grow on or near the animal's head. The tumours can become so large that they interfere with the rabbit's ability to eat, eventually causing it to starve to death.
