Video: Teen run over by bus after arm trapped in door

A teenage boy has been critically injured after he was run over by a bus when his arm became jammed in the door.

Jerry Cunningham, 14, was running to catch the Broward County Bus as it pulled off from a stop in South Florida.

But he gets his arm caught in the door as the bus moves off, and is eventually dragged underneath the vehicle.

In the video, a passenger can be seen frantically screaming at the driver, telling him to stop.

According toNBC Miami, one passenger made a 911 call, which said: "There's a teenage boy who was running alongside the bus, and I told the bus driver to stop and he wouldn't and the child fell under the bus."

He is in a critical condition in hospital with fractures to his face, ribs, and ankle.

The driver, Reinaldo Soto, 55, is on administrative leave until the outcome of the investigation into the incident is reached.

According to Sky News, Bertha Henry, a Broward County administrator, said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with this young man and his family. We are saddened by this tragic incident.

"The safety of passengers is a top priority for Broward County Transit."
