The body of a man has been found washed up on a beach in Dublin.

The male, thought to be in his late 20s, was found by a walker just before 8am on Sunday morning at a beach on Bull Island.

A Garda spokesman told the Irish Independent: "We haven't identified the person at this stage. We're investigating the circumstances."

He added that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

On 19 October 2012, a human leg washed up on Dollymount Strand on Bull Island off Clontarf, north Dublin.

It was the second limb found on Dollymount Strand over the past two years, with a man's arm found on the beach in February 2011.

Back in October 2012, another human arm was found on a beach in Dublin. The limb was discovered during a Garda patrol at Shankhill Beach in south Dublin.

Garda said it was too early to tell whether the limb was related to the discovery of the human leg that washed up on Dollymount Strand on Bull Island.
