Huge python swallows ringtail possum in Australia

A woman got the shock of her life when she spotted an enormous snake hanging from a tree and snacking on a ringtail possum in Australia.

The woman couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the gigantic python hanging from a branch of a pandanus tree in a forest near her house in Byron Bay, New South Wales.

According to Rex Features, the snake had unhinged its jaw and was in the process of swallowing an unfortunate ringtail possum.

The deadly python gradually reeled itself back up before disappearing into the tree canopy with its mammoth meal.

Pythons kill their prey by wrapping their body around it and squeezing until it dies from asphyxiation.

The snake then unwraps its coils before starting the slow process of swallowing its prey whole.
