Aviation chiefs to investigate after passengers dance in aisles on flight
Aviation chiefs have launched an investigation after video footage emerged of passengers performing the Harlem Shake dance during a flight from Colarado Springs to San Diego.
Footage of the dance was has been posted to YouTube and has already attracted more than 3 million views, although some of the viewers' comments express concern that the stunt could have been dangerous.
Sky News reports that a group of students are thought to have started the dance on Frontier Flight 157. Footage shows one person starting the dance, before others join in. Several of them are wearing costumes, with one dressed up as a banana and another wearing an Abraham Lincoln mask.
One of those involved, student Matt Zelin, told the Colorado College newspaper, The Catalyst, that he had asked a flight attendant for permission beforehand.
Frontier Airlines said the seatbelt signs were off and correct safety measures were followed, although a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson said that they were looking at what phase the flight when in when the dance was performed.
