An extreme skydiver turned a fairy tale into reality when he dropped down from the sky over Southern California clutching a large patio umbrella in his latest daredevil stunt.
The Daily Mail reports that professional skier and BASE jumper Erik Roner was filmed hanging beneath a hot air balloon before he lets go and plummets from the sky in a surprisingly smooth fall.
'We're going to see if an umbrella actually slows you down like Mary Poppins' does,' he says.
Less than ten seconds later, the air pressure changes and turns the umbrella inside out, ripping the fabric and causing him to lose control.
He clutches the umbrella's skeleton for a few seconds before breaking away to free fall to earth with the backup safety of a parachute.
When he is safely on the ground he says: 'That was so fun. Thanks for the idea Mary Poppins.'
Mashable reports that Roner captured the entire experience on a GoPro Camera, showing his viewers what it is like to float down from the sky.
