A new survey has revealed that the world's worst hotels can be found in London.

The Daily Telegraph reports that a study of reviews published on more than 140 hotel booking websites showed that out of 100 cities analysed, the British capital received the worst average rating by hotel guests.

Price comparison website Trivago.co.uk looked at reviews on Booking.com, Expedia.com and Hotels.com, but TripAdvisor was not included in the research.

According to News.com.au, London with a ranking of 100 was followed by Rio de Janeiro (99), Copenhagen (98) and Paris (97) in the world's worst hotels list.

The best hotels were found in German city Dresden, followed by Hanoi in Vietnam, Portland in America and Tokyo in Japan.
