Torquay seafront closed and trains cancelled after flooding

The seafront road in Torquay was closed on Friday morning caused by flooding after a night of heavy rain.
First Great Western train services have now resumed at Dawlish after flooding led to a number of cancellations.
According to the BBC, flood warnings are in place for a number of areas in south Devon, including Aveton Gifford, Salcombe, Kingsbrudge, Cockwood and Topsham.
Taxi driver Nick Sword, from Kingsbridge, told the BBC: "It was worst at high tide this morning when the sea was topping the quay.
"It's easing off now and the rain has stopped but there's still a lot of water on the roads around the town."
The Met Office warned on Thursday that the recent Big Freeze would give way to heavy rain and gales this weekend, leaving the south west and south Wales at risk of floods.
The rain is now expected to travel east. Sarah Holland from the Met Office told Aol Travel: "Rain is expected to sweep east and north across much of the UK through Friday.
"The rain is expected to be accompanied by strong to gale force east or southeast winds, with the potential for severe gales across exposed coasts and hills.
"Gusts of 45 mph are expected quite widely with gusts up to 65 mph possible on exposed coasts and hills in the north and east."
Leon Brown, meteorologist at the Weather Channel, gave Aol Travel a look ahead to the weather this weekend: "After the heavy rain moving north today flooding will again be the risk on Saturday morning with some very high rivers.
"The weather will be much more clement across the south with light to moderate winds from the SW.
"Fine and bright with some sunshine for central and eastern England on both Saturday and Sunday and temperatures around 10C along and near the south coast and 8 to 9C in central and eastern England, perhaps a degree lower on Sunday.
"In the west, expect rain showers, some heavy over west Wales. Taking a while for temperatures to recover in Scotland with a lot of cloud and mist and hill fog on Saturday and Sunday."
